A popular grill and takeaway in Doncaster has been shortlisted at the 2026 Nation’s Takeaway Awards.
Smokeys, based on Netherhall Road in the city centre, has been named as a finalist at the prestigious awards, alongside just nine other popular takeaways from across the country.
The popular takeaway will be hoping to add to its growing list of accolades, having already been awarded a Good Food Award for 2025/26.
Smokeys is a third-generation, family-run fast food business, continuing a family legacy that began in the 1970s.
Its menu focuses primarily on grilled meat and seafood, with a wide range of flavours and sauces to choose from.
Fan-favourite dishes include the peri peri chicken fillet and teriyaki salmon boxes.
A spokesperson for Smokeys said: “Excellence and innovation has allowed us to stand out and create a dining experience that people love.
“What sets us apart is our belief that you can have healthy food with quality ingredients, fast.”
Since launching in 2019, the takeaway has become a staple in Doncaster, with plans to open a second location in Retford soon.
The team will now be hoping to take home the top prize and add another award to its growing collection.
Win or not, it’s great to see another local establishment getting recognised on a national level.
The winner of the Nations Takeaway Awards will be crowned on August 24th.
